Whether you're rushing in for your early morning caffeine fix or relaxing over brunch, Boss Brown offers a refined yet approachable experience that keeps patrons coming back.

The café's menu, though modest in size, boasts standout items that engage both the palate and the senses. Start with one of their refreshing smoothies, such as the tropical Mango Django or the delectably sweet and banana-forward Inglorious Bananas. These vibrant drinks perfectly complement their robust coffee selections, praised repeatedly for their consistency and bold flavors by locals like Matthew Ray, who commends the shop’s early opening hours and friendly baristas.

For food lovers, the offerings balance casual comfort and gourmet flair. The Boss Eggs Benny features perfectly poached eggs nestled atop fresh brioche with creamy hollandaise, delivering a satisfying harmony of rich textures. Meanwhile, the Boss Club Sandwich is crafted with fresh, quality ingredients—though some have noted portion size variations, the flavors remain impressively fresh and flavorful. If you're after a quick yet delicious bite, the crispy Fries and the delightful Avocado Toast are simple but effective choices.

Beyond the menu, what truly distinguishes Boss Brown is its ambiance and service. Derek Ford highlights the café’s friendly staff and inviting atmosphere that’s enhanced by the adjoining plant shop—a unique touch that enriches the sensory experience, making visits feel like a mini-retreat. Maggie Woodhead’s praise for the attentive young team captures the essence of the café’s warm, welcoming vibe and efficient service, adding an extra layer of comfort even during busy periods.

Located conveniently close to John Forrest National Park, Boss Brown invites explorers and locals alike to fuel up with quality coffee and food before or after a scenic outing. While the food range may be somewhat concise, each offering is executed with care, simplicity, and undeniable flavor.

In essence, Boss Brown stands out as a small powerhouse in Midvale’s café scene—where great coffee, delicious meals, and genuine hospitality converge. It’s a place that truly feels like a community cornerstone, rewarding regulars with personalized service and new visitors with a memorable local experience.

Super cafe and adjacent plant shop. Great biltong too. Friendly staff and great atmosphere.

We were SO impressed with this small local coffee shop. Great coffee and a small but good and v reasonably priced food selection. What we were most impressed with was the amazing service; a great team of young women handling a v busy shop with cool efficiency, kindness and smiles.

***Thankyou Boss Brown for replying to my review, thanks for the offer but no need to refund the food I just wanted to leave some constructive feedback I will be in for lunch again this week!) I would have given you guys a 5 star as your cafe is stunning, your food is beautiful, coffee is great but the portion sizes are so Inconsistent! I had a club sandwich on my first visit a while ago and it was huge, plenty of hot bacon and chicken and lovely fresh salad and served in a tray with a paper bag so I could take back to work - perfect! (Friday) Couple of weeks after I ordered the same and it was tiny in comparison, hardly any chicken which was cold out the fridge, and wrapped in paper and just wasn't as nice. (Monday) The eggs on toast could be a bigger portion too, 1 piece of Turkish bread and an extra $4 for 1 piece of bacon, I would have expected 2 pieces really, and $2 for 4 cherry tomatoes seems a little expensive. Your food is beautiful there's no doubt about that, and the girls are always soooo friendly just wish the serving sizes on certain things were more generous for what I paid ($18 for 2 eggs on 1 piece of toast with 1 piece of bacon and 4 cherry tomatoes)

Perfect place for a bit, close to John Forrest national park Less choices of food on the Sunday but still plenty to choose from.

Best coffee you can get thats open 5am weekdays and 6am weekends. Food is great, only knocking a star because the range of options is narrow, excellent but narrow. Atmosphere/service very laid back and cheery, the girls will put in the effort to learn your usual orders if you come in regularly.
